i have to say that, although i can't completely discount my suspicion that someone has kidnapped a london pigeon and painted it bright colours, this is one of the most lovely avian creatures i have come across in all my years of online bird-watching. it has made up for my disappointment at having just lived in central america for 8 months and still not having seen a resplendent quetzal.
yes, i had the same thought! and i nearly attempted to dispel any such suspicions by writing -- "no, i did not simply color in a photo of a white dove using MS Paint - this bird is for real"! although i kind of wish i'd drawn it...
